Neil Newbon won best performance at The 2023 Game Awards for his portrayal of Astarion from Baldur’s Gate 3. For anyone who has played the game, seen reviews, or even has stumbled upon some of Baldur’s Gate 3’s iconic clips, it is no surprise that Neil’s amazing performance received an award.

Astarion is everyone’s favorite sassy and cunning vampire from the 2023 Game of The Year, Baldur’s Gate 3. The roleplaying game is known for its remarkable characters and detailed diologue.

The game was released in August of 2023, but the developers have already released several patches, releasing even more dialogue and interesting game additions.

With so many iconic scenes, it is difficult to pick only a few favorite quotes by Astarion, but here are the ones that fans cannot help but replay time and time again!

“What In The Sweet Hells Were You Thinking, Activating That Lance? I Was Right There!”

This entire interaction is so quotable! After dropping a building on him, Astarion throws out several iconic lines showing not only his disappointment in Tav, but also his complete array of unbridled emotions.

When romancing Astarion, players also are presented with the opportunity to romance Halsin. While Astarion is supportive of the option to have a second lover, he cannot help himself as he impersonates the other elf in camp.

“That Thing That Will Decider My Fate Forevermore? Yes, It Has Been On My Mind – Why?”

After discovering the details of Cazador’s ritual, it makes sense that Astarion is a little sensitive on the topic. However, that doesn’t stop him from delivering this sarcastic line.

“I’m Going To Fucking Kill You.”

Upon entering the city of Baldur’s Gate, the party encounters Dribbles, a clown. As the clown is putting on a show, the player can offer one of their companions to join Dribbles on stage.

Astarion, who loves mockery of others, shows that he is not a fan of being the butt of a joke as he threatens to kill you for offering him as a stage assistant.

Note to self: Do not use Astarion as a cheap trick if you value your life.

“This Is Important, Devil. When?”

As expected, Raphael doesn’t give you all the details about Cazador’s ritual during the first conversation. So, Astarion’s impatience gets the better of him for this quote.

The thing that makes this quote stand out from the treasure trove of Astarion quotes is the disgruntle “When?” tagged on at the end. I guess “take backsies” even works between vampire and devil.

“After Two Hundred Years Of Shit, Pure Shit, I Think I Deserve Something Better.”

The pure rage of this line delivery speaks for itself. After two hundred years of an array of torture, it is no wonder that Astarion feels compelled to emphasize his point.

Also, giggling at the fact that the rest of camp probably heard him yell out this line and had their own reaction to the delivery.
